About Strake
Who We Are
Built by inspectors and engineers who understand the standards – because inspection software should be written by people who've done the work.
Company History
Strake Technology Limited was founded to solve a specific problem: the statutory inspection industry needed software built by people who genuinely understand it. We were formed to bring together deep domain knowledge in pressure equipment inspection with modern software development expertise – creating tools purpose-built for the way inspectors and asset operators actually work. Our founding commercial relationships – with a third-party inspection body and an asset operator in New Zealand – drove the development of a production-grade product with real-world validation before any formal go-to-market effort.
Engineering is at the core of Strake. Our philosophy is that very specialised knowledge is needed to properly interpret and encode the rules of inspection standards like AS/NZS 3788, AS 1210, and AS 4343. That's why our development team combines software engineering with direct, hands-on experience in statutory inspection – writing reports, interpreting codes, and managing compliance programmes. It is common to see members of our team debating the engineering merits of an approach before implementing it in the platform.
Strake does not outsource development, client support, or implementation services. Our team works directly with every client – from initial configuration through ongoing standards updates. When a question arises about how a code rule is implemented in the software, you speak to the people who wrote the logic. This direct line of communication extends within our team as well – engineers, domain experts, and client-facing staff work side by side, debating the engineering merits of each approach before it reaches the platform. There are no layers of abstraction between the people writing the code and the people who understand the standards.
Strake's software was built in direct collaboration with inspectors at 3PI, an IANZ and ISO/IEC 17020 accredited inspection body – tested against real inspections, real standards, and real client expectations. The success of this collaboration is what inspired the inception of Strake Technology.
Standards Expertise
Strake's software encodes compliance logic directly from the standards themselves. We don't build generic checklists – we interpret the engineering rules of each standard and implement them as first-class logic in the platform. Our current standards coverage includes AS/NZS 3788, AS 1210, AS 4343, and AS 3892, with active development toward international codes.
This depth of standards knowledge is not bolted on – it is foundational to the company. Our team includes professionals who have conducted statutory inspections, authored inspection reports, and managed compliance programmes for regulated pressure equipment, storage tanks, and lifting gear. But understanding the standards is only part of the equation. We implement compliance logic in a way that streamlines workflows, reduces manual effort, and gives inspectors and operators the information they need at the right time – turning regulatory obligations into an opportunity to improve operational efficiency rather than a burden to manage.
Where We Operate
Strake is headquartered in New Zealand with clients across Australia and New Zealand. We are expanding into the United Kingdom, Middle East, and Canada – markets with regulatory frameworks and inspection standards that align with our coverage.
